UbD + ARCS Motivational Design Lesson
Included in this section are both the unit plan and the culminating lesson from that unit. The unit plan was designed using Understanding by Design (UbD) and the lesson was developed with UbD and ARCS Motivational Design. These were created for my fifth grade classroom and were also designed around a writing system called The Writing Revolution and includes posters, test, rubric, and an accommodated letter form.
Direct Instruction Lesson
In this lesson, I was wanting to increase my fifth grade student's ability to recognize that detailed sentences relate to and give more information about the main idea.

The 5 Es of Inquiry Lesson
The 5Es of Inquiry was the design method I used to create this lesson. The basis of this modality is to guide students through 5 steps of inquiry while coming to conclusions. For this, I had the students complete an experiment while building a rocket with a balloon and string, and incorporating science and writing.
